Old Colony graphic design students win anti-bullying poster contest

Three graphic design students from Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School took the top three awards in Massachusetts for the “Don’t Be A Bully, Be A Friend” poster design contest sponsored by the Knights of Pythias.

The international contest was open to any student enrolled in a junior or senior high school or Parochial School in the United States and Canada.

The first place winner will go on to compete at the national level when the Supreme Lodge of the Pythians meet for their convention on Aug. 2 in Las Vegas.

The national winners receive $1,000 first place, $500 second place, $250 third place and $100 if placed fourth through eight.

Chelsey Saraiva of Acushnet placed second and Deanna Longo of Lakeville placed third.  The first place winner asked that a name not be published.

The Fraternal Order of Knights of Pythias is a non-sectarian organization that was founded in 1864 on the principals of friendship, charity and benevolence and its members are dedicated to the cause of universal peace.
