ROCHESTER — The Old Rochester Regional hockey team continued their six game win streak with a successful senior night where they won 2-0 on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Tabor Academy.

“It was a great, great night. A lot of parents helped out. Lots of fundraising going on during it,” said Head Coach Zach Ledogar.

There are nine seniors on the team this season, including Captain Justin Marques, Captain Caleb Bousquet, Assistant Captain Gavin Austin, Assistant Captain Connor Galligan, Jarrod Frates, Jack Langlais, Michael Brown, Padraig Carrier and Nate Lewis.

“We have nine seniors from goalies, defense, all the way up to forwards,” said Ledogar. “We had plenty of happy families there.”

Ledogar emphasized the strong leadership and athletic ability of the senior athletes.

“We’ve got a lot of energy, a lot of really good athletes,” said Ledogar of the seniors on the team. “Out of that group, we have two captains and two assistant captains, so great leadership and a lot of them have been four year starters and players for the varsity team since they came in as freshmen.”

The hard work has paid off as the team qualified for playoffs, placing in the top half of the 32 qualifying teams for division four.

“We’re actually currently ranked 15th in Division Four,” said Ledogar. “The top 32 teams make playoffs, so we’re right in the top half there and we’re actually currently on a six game winning streak so everything’s coming together pretty well here toward the end of the season,”

As the team works toward their playoff games, Ledogar wants his team to play to the best of their ability regardless of wins or losses.

“We just hope to play our best hockey at the end of the season going into playoffs,” said Ledogar.
