ORR students head back to school
Students stepped back into the hallowed halls of Old Rochester Regional High School Tuesday morning, most with smiles on their faces for the first day of classes.
Assistant Principal Mike Parker joked that students looks surprisingly happy to be back.
He and Superintendent Doug White and Principal Mike Devoll greeted the students as they entered the building for another year of school.
At Sippican School, kindergarten students and their parents were given a brief orientation Tuesday morning.
It was part of a process that included an informational session held the night before to ease the transition into the school.
Students and parents met with kindergarten teachers briefly. Parents were then taken to the community room while the kids got used to being in their new classrooms.
“The hard part is over,” said parent Dan Cooney after dropping his child off.
