Dec 21, 2020

MATTAPOISETT — There have now been 62 covid-19 cases in the Old Rochester Regional School District since classes started on Sept. 16, as two new cases in the high school and one new case in the junior high were announced on Dec. 21.

In a press release, district officials said the individuals were last in the school building on Dec. 11 (high school case), Dec. 15 (junior high school case), and Dec.
18 (high school case).

The district did not specify whether those who tested positive are students, faculty or staff members.

Any close contacts, or those who came within six feet of the positive cases for more than 15 minutes over a 24-hour period, will be notified and followed by the town’s Board of Health.

All schools will continue on their normal schedules on Dec. 22 at the recommendation of the Mattapoisett Board of Health.

These positive cases were the 60th, 61st, and 62nd in the district since schools reopened on Sept. 16.
