Partake in patriotic band performances

Leading up to the Fourth of July, the Mattapoisett Town Band is kicking off its 125th season of weekly band concerts with a patriotic performance on Wednesday, July 2 at 7 p.m. in Shipyard Park.
The concert will feature “Marches” by John Philip Sousa, E.E. Bagley, Jimmie Dodd and Eric Osterling in addition to rock and roll favorites from the 50s and 60s, American Revolution songs and Americana standards.
The Marion Concert Band is also kicking off their season with a Fourth of July performance taking place on Friday, July 4 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Robert O. Broomhead Bandstand at Island Wharf.
The band will perform American classics such as the “Star Spangled Spectacular,” “God Bless America,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “America, the Beautiful” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever” among many others.
Both performances are free and open to the public with no registration required.
