Plumb Library 'rocks' summer reading to benefit school music department
Rock and Roll into Plumb Library for the "Libraries Rock Summer Library Program," featuring the" Stick Together Mosaic Project" to benefit Rochester Memorial School Music Dept.
The program. which encourages reading and understanding of geography, is a fundraiser where the Friends of Plumb Library will donate money to Rochester Memorial School Music Dept. based on young reader participation. The mission is to fill 4,000 mosaic squares.
Registration for the 'Libraries Rock!' program ends Tuesday, July 31. No registrations will be accepted after July 31. The program ends Aug. 10, which is the last day to log books or challenges.
To be invited to the ice cream social at Captain Bonney's in Rochester, you need to complete at least five challenges challenges in Wandoo, and have reviewed at least one book by 4 p.m. on Aug. 4. If you have completed five Wandoo challenges and reviewed one book in Wandoo, you will receive an emailed invitation on Aug. 5 or Aug. 6. The ice cream social takes place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11. You must RSVP by 8 p.m. on Aug. 9.
"The Music Mosaic needs many tiles to be completed,: Gail Roberts, Library Director at Joseph H. Plumb Memorial Library said. "Visit the library soon as possible to share your sticker log and accomplishments, so that you can add your tiles to the mosaic."
