Plumb Library to start giving out books

May 2, 2020

ROCHESTER — The Joseph H. Plumb Memorial Library will remain closed, but will start a distribution program to allow its patrons to still take home some books starting on May 4.

The library will provide children’s, young adult and adult books for those who pick them up to keep. Each patron can take two books per person per visit, but can visit as often as they would like.

Organizers ask that those who pick up books practice social distancing and allow only one family at a time in the gazebo. People should also wash their hands after picking a book.

Library staff also invites some online social interaction from those who take the book, by asking them to take a picture of their book choice and post it to the library’s Facebook page

This program will hopefully continue through the summer. The library will accept book donations at multiple locations at a later date.
