Plumb Library to start virtual summer reading program

Jun 19, 2020

ROCHESTER — Join Plumb Library for a summer of fantasy, fairy tales, and mythology. Just think SLP — sign-up, log and participate.

To sign-up, email the library at info@plumblibrary.com, or give it a call at 508-763-8600. Then, start reading and completing challenges from June 20 through Aug. 8. Listening to audio books, reading to others, or being read to all count as reading. Participants will earn prizes earned for certain activities and for completing a log by Aug. 8, but must be signed-up to be eligible for prizes.

All ages are welcome to participate. There are many activities which youth and adults can do independently, while children can do them with a grown-up or together with family. Summer logs can also be used to accomplish personal own summer goals as long as they include daily reading, brain building activities, and outdoor experiences.

This year, links for bingo cards, challenge checklists, and logs can be found below under "Links for Printouts" on the Summer Library Program page on the library’s website for printing. If families cannot print them, they should call the library to have a set printed.

There will be no in-house library programs due to pandemic restrictions. Visit the Event Calendar on the Plumb Library website to find information on Zoom story times, book talks (for RMS students only), bedtime stories and stretch with Plumbelina, programs by the Science Tellers for Preschool and for grades Kindergarten to grade 5, Ed the Wizard on Harry Potter’s Birthday, and the ever-popular scrambled word and find Gnomeo, and more virtual or community programs.

For more information, email info@plumblibrary.org, or call the library at 508-763-8600.
