Mia Quinlan received a superior gold rating at the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association Solo and Ensemble Festival at Carlisle High School in Concord on Saturday.

Quinlan, a Mattapoisett student at Old Rochester Regional High School, entered as a soloist playing "Tambourin" by Francois Joseph Gossec on flute. Quinlan was awarded a Superior Gold Rating.

The adjudicator's said Quilan had a nice tone and that she delivered an "exciting performance."
