Rare book presentation with the Mattapoisett Library

Jun 7, 2021

MATTAPOISETT -- The Mattapoisett Free Public Library will hold a virtual presentation featuring rare book specialist Ken Gloss on June 16 at 4 p.m.

The Zoom presentation will explore the value of old and rare books, as well as the history of his book store, Brattle Book Shop, which was founded in the 1800s.

Gloss will talk about and show some of his favorite rare finds and describe some of the joys of the "hunt," as well as explain what makes a book go up in value.

There will be a Q&A session before the conclusion of Gloss’ talk. Following the talk and question-and-answer session, Gloss will give free verbal appraisals of books participants have on hand or will do so at his shop in Boston at a later scheduled date.

To participate in the Zoom session, the Library asks individuals to register on the events page of its website, https://www.mattapoisettlibrary.org/.
