Raymond L. Allaire, 50
Raymond L. Allaire, 50, of New Bedford, formerly of Marion and Mattapoisett, died Jan. 2 unexpectedly at his home.
Born in Stoughton, the son of Elizabeth Bradstreet of Wareham and Lionel Allaire of S. Weymouth, he was raised in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School, Class of 1984. Raymond attended Arizona State University.
Raymond worked as a meat cutter for Shaw’s Supermarket in Wareham and most recently their Cedarville store.
A certified personal trainer, Raymond was an avid runner. He was the founder of the Gateway Running Club in Wareham, a member of L Street Running Club and the Greater New Bedford Track Club. Raymond participated in 12 marathons including, the Boston, New York and Chicago marathons, Mt. Desert Island and Marine Corps marathons and several others.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Peter Bradstreet of Wareham; his father and step-mother, Lionel and Karin Allaire of S. Weymouth; his brothers and sisters, Janice Berlinsky and her husband Rodman Chudy of Mapleville, Rhode Island, Susan Whetstone and her husband John of Glocester, Rhode Island, Cathie Jones and her husband Bob of Hull, Elaine Biester, M.D. and her husband Jim of Oak Park, Illinois, Kristin Ludlow and her husband Matt of Pompano Beach, Florida, Michael Cusano of Milton, Linda Tavares and her husband Mike of Tiverton, Rhode Island and Brian Bradstreet of Whitman. Also surviving are his close and loving friend, Kristine Gaffney and her children, 12 nieces and nephews, one great niece, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends along with his beloved dog, Ashley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 13 at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours have been omitted.
