Reforestation begins at Mattapoisett Land Trust property

Mar 29, 2021

MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Land Trust will has started a reforestation project that will last until April 15.

The project, a result of the trust’s 2018 Forest Management Plan, will remove invasive plants and poor quality trees in a two-acre parcel north of Route 6, just west  of the Quaker Meeting House in Mattapoisett.

The removals will allow the forest to regrow, free of any invasive species.

Throughout the removal process, the area will be closed to the public to ensure safety.
