Tabor Academy is beginning the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Tabor Boy with an open ship on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Tabor Boy is a 92-foot two-masted schooner that has been part of the school since 1954.

The schooner was built near Amsterdam in 1914.

Marion residents are invited aboard the ship. A launch service will leave from Island Wharf next to Barden's Boatyard.
