Got limbs? Well, don’t pile up those pesky branches by the roadside.

Mattapoisett Town Administrator Mike Gagne wants to clarify that the town is not responsible for removing debris from the February’s blizzard.

“I think there may be some misunderstanding that people can put brush from their yards to the side of the road. We can’t do that. We do not have the resources,” said Gagne. “[Residents] have to make arrangements to get those up to the Transfer Station.”

That said, Gagne commended Tree Warden Roland Cote and his assistant Louis Aiello for all the removal of downed brush completed already.

“I have visited a number of other communities, and in comparison, I’m extremely impressed at what we’ve been able to do,” said Gagne.
