Riders display horsemanship at 4-H show
MARION — The Plymouth County 4-H club held a horse show on May 5, allowing riders to show off their skills at Washburn Park.
The horse show was open to all members of the community (not just 4-H members), and depending on the event participants were judged on either their skill as a rider or on how well they cared for their horse. Organizer Jen Duhon called the second category, which is technically called fitting and showmanship, the “bread and butter of a 4-H competition.”
The horse show also had a raffle of various themed baskets at the horse show.
The show is held twice a year, with a second show in October. All proceeds raised from the show go back to the Plymouth County 4-H club.
