Robert Earl Harris, 88, of Marion, formerly of Randolph and Whitman, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wareham.

Harris was the husband of 65 years to Dorothea A. (Reed) Harris of Marion. He was born in Randolph, the son of the late Lester C. and Mildred (Whynot) Harris.

He attended Whitman Public Schools and was a World War II Navy Veteran, serving aboard the USS Bunker Hill. He worked for McLaughlin Motors and was a technician for Armstrong Flooring in Braintree for 29 years.

Harris enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and was an avid New England sports fan.He enjoyed ice skating, hockey, and fishing.

He was a 60-year member of American Legion Post 22 in Whitman and a member of the Delano Kindred. In addition to his wife, Harris is survived by his daughter, Ann M. Harris of Marion. He was the brother of the late Mildred P. Blanchard and the late Joseph T. Harris. He is also survived many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 23. Arrangements were by Wareham Village Funeral Home.
