Rochester author to discuss alcohol abuse
Author and motivational speaker Alberta Sequeira of Rochester will give a talk on alcohol abuse and autograph her books on Sunday, Nov. 30 at Somethin’s Brewin, 241 Main St. in Lakeville from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sequeira published her first nonfiction book “What is and isn’t Working for the Alcoholic and Addicts: In Their Own Words” after losing her husband, Richard Lopes, and daughter, Lori (Lopes) Cahill, to alcohol addiction. She wanted to know how some addicts fight this battle and come out winning while other die from this disease.
The book covers the stories of 34 addicts from all walks of life and from the United States and Canada.
