Rochester candidate challenges Town Election results
Apr 24, 2012
Following a one-vote loss for re-election on the Rochester Park Commission, incumbent Travis Lalli has requested a recount of the Town Election results.
The April 11 election saw Kenneth Ross emerge victorious with 120 votes to Lalli’s 119.
A recount, Town Clerk Naida Parker said, is not very unusual for Rochester elections.
“My first year as Town Clerk, in 1984, there was a recount,” Parker said. “It’s happened many times over the years.”
Previous recounts have shown counting errors in the past, but Parker said, that is not always the case.
Some recounts have resulted in a tie, a win for a different candidate or no difference at all.
The recount will happen sometime in the next two weeks, Parker said.
