Rochester COA happenings

Rochester Council on Aging offers activities and events for seniors year round.Here is a listing of upcoming activities. Transportation is available on the Rochester COA van for $5 per person

On Thursday, Aug. 30 there is a day trip to Cape Ann Lighthouse. The 2.5 Hour cruise is at 2:30 p.m. The cost of the trip is $35 per person and lunch will be nearby. The bus will leave the senior center on Dexter Lane Senior at 10 a.m. and return at around 6 p.m.

Friday movies: All movies are ordered & scheduled through Netflix. Although every movie that Netflix sends is one that is requested by the COA it might not be the movie that is schedule. Please call on Wednesday to find out if the movie was changed.

The Friday, Aug. 31, movie is "Humor Me". It is a 2018 Not Rated Comedy. Starring Jemaine Clement and Elliot Gould

The Fitness Room is open five days a week for four hours each day. The schedule is as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, from 8 a.m. to noon, Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a monthly membership fee of only $10 per person, due on the first of each month.

The weekly blood pressure clinic is held on Wednesdays, from 10 .m. to noon, at the Senior Center, by Rochester Public Health Nurse Connie Dolan. Anyone is welcome to come to get their blood pressure checked. For a ride to the clinic, call 508-763-8723

Come and try your luck here at our Wednesday afternoon bingo game 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., as well as on Monday, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the senior center. It is 50 cents per card and 25 cents per game. All money collected will be given in prizes that day/night. Call us if you need a ride 508-763-8723.
