Rochester Council on Aging adds new minivan
ROCHESTER — The Rochester Council on Aging added in December another car to its fleet of vehicles.
A new, accessible minivan will be used to bring Rochester residents age 60 or up to medical appointments, including long-distance trips to Boston, according to executive director Eric Poulin.
He said 80% of the funding for the car came through the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
“We’re happy with that,” Poulin said.
The minivan was delivered Tuesday, Dec. 17. It’s the third new minivan acquired by the Rochester Council on Aging since 2021, Poulin said.
The Rochester Council on Aging now has five vehicles, according to Poulin.
The fleet includes the three minivans, an eight-passenger vehicle and a 14-passenger vehicle.
A 12-passenger vehicle is also expected to be received by the Rochester Council on Aging by around the middle of next year, according to Poulin.
