Rochester Cultural Council seeks applicants

Sep 13, 2013

The Rochester Cultural Council is seeking proposals for funding of art, humanity, and science programs that would benefit the residents of Rochester. Local organizations, town boards, schools, and individuals can apply for these grants that support cultural activities in Rochester.

These grants can support a variety of artistic projects in Rochester and surrounding towns including exhibits, festivals, field trips, short term artist residencies, or performances in schools, workshops, and lectures.

The Rochester Cultural Council is part of the network of 329 local cultural councils serving all 351 Massachusetts cities and towns and is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, funded by state appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which then allocates funds to each community.

According to Beverly Pierce, council Chairman, the RCC has funded programs for both Old Rochester Regional High School and Rochester Memorial School, the Council on Aging, Plumb Library, Rochester Country Fair, the Rochester Historical Society, and the Green Ways Committee, to name a few.

Applications must be postmarked by Oct.15. Information and applications are available online at www.mass-culture.org/lcc_public.asp. Application forms are also available at the Town Hall or Plumb Library.
