ROCHESTER - Rochester is considering designation as a Green Community. Green Communities is a state initiative with an objective of energy conservation, with the benefit of both potential cost savings and grant money for use by the town for energy reduction projects.

Seth Pickering, the Green Communities Regional Coordinator for the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources will be in town to talk about the criteria to become a green community and answer questions.

Pickering will be at the Council on Aging on Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
