Rochester Land Trust annual meeting

Join the Rochester Land Trust for a potluck supper at its annual meeting on March 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Rochester’s Congregational Church Fellowship Hall.  This year’s featured speaker is Col. Chuck Samaris, commander and district engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.

His presentation is titled “Engineering Solutions to the Nation’s Toughest Challenges,” which will provide: An overview of the organization (mission, function, locations, etc.,) an overview of the program (military, civil, interagency/international) including project highlights within each program, and an overview of Hurricane Sandy (USACE response and recovery.)

Also get information on the Army Corps' involvement in the Fairhaven Hurricane Barrier, the Cape Cod Canal and the South Coast Rail Project, restoring passenger rail transportation from South Station Boston to New Bedford.
