Rochester Police to offer self-defense class for women
The Rochester Police Department is reintroducing the R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) program with classes beginning Thursday, Jan. 8.
R.A.D. is a self-defense program for women only.
Officer Alyson Rego is the department's newest certified instructor. She will join Sgt. Robert Small in teaching these classes to women of all ability levels.
The classes will be held Jan. 8 and 15 from 6 to 9 p.m, and there will be two classes on Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. All classes will be at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School.
