Mar 7, 2019

ROCHESTER — The Senior Center received word from the National Council on Aging /National Institute of Senior Centers that we have achieved full senior center accreditation for another 5 years. The National Accreditation Board voted unanimously on the decision.

This is the third time the Rochester Senior Center has gone through the accreditation process. It has been accredited since 2007. A year-long self-assessment process was followed by an on-site peer review on Feb. 11.

The Rochester Senior Center will have an accreditation celebration on Friday, April 5 at 1:30 p.m. Seniors who wish to attend should call the senior center to RVSP,  so the Senior Center has plenty of refreshments.

The Senior Center also plays music every Friday at 1:30 p.m.  The senior center will post each week’s film on its Facebook page, or seniors may call to find out what will be shown after Wednesday afternoon.

This service will be offered every Wednesday until April 15. Anyone interested should call the Rochester Senior Center to schedule an appointment.

On Thursday, March 14 starting at 9:30 a.m. Old Colony Technical High School students will be at the Rochester Senior Center to provide manicures. Call the senior center for more information.
