ROCHESTER — To better prepare for such weather events the Town of Rochester will hold two free half-day Municipal Vulnerability Workshops to gather citizen and business feedback on climate-related hazards. These workshops will be held on March 15 and March 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rochester First Congregational Church Fellowship Hall.

Light breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants. Representatives of Rochester town departments, local businesses and residents are invited to participate in the workshops.

Space for the workshops is limited.  Please contact Laurell Farinon, the environmental planner and conservation agent at 508-763-5421 ext. 206, or at lfarinon@townofrochester.com by Monday, March 11 to confirm attendance.

The workshops will identify Rochester’s top natural and climate related hazards and identify strengths and vulnerabilities of Rochester’s residents, infrastructure and natural assets. Attendees will also work on developing and prioritizing actions for the municipality to bounce back or actions that will reduce the impact of hazards.

The workshops will be facilitated by the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District (SRPEDD), and will result in a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness report prepared for Rochester.
