MATTAPOISETT — Local dried grasses, plants and evergreens from Allen’s Pond are just some of the elements involved in pottery pieces at the upcoming Salt Marsh Pottery exhibit. 

The gallery will be featured at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library between Feb. 4 and Feb. 28 as a part of their artist series and is free to the public.

The pieces are made with hand-cut clay that is shaped, dried, painted, glazed and finished in a kiln by the artist. Many aspects of the art are imbued with nature such as pressing flowers into the work.
