MARION — During the Marion Natural History Museum’s annual meeting on Friday, May 16, scientist Chris German of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution discussed deep ocean trenches. He covered topics including studying the chemical composition of volcanic eruptions and locating activity to help determine where the next eruption might occur.

Scientists such as German are working directly with NASA to explore the possibility of life on other planets, with one of the most likely places to start looking being the ocean vents.
