Rochester Council on Aging Director Sharon Lally recently announced her intention to retire, setting in motion the process to find a new director.

Lally has been the Rochester Council on Aging Director since 2006.

"Our council on aging director has informed the board that she will be retiring at the end of August in 2019," Selectmen Chairman Woody Hartley said at the board's Aug. 20, meeting. "Knowing that, the (council on aging) board of directors voted to create a selection committee."

Hartley said the board of directors is seeking three at-large members to serve on the search committee to assist the board with the selection of the town's next council on aging director.

All those interested are asked to send a letter of interest or emails to current COA Director Sharon Lally no later than Sept. 10, 2018.  Lally's email is: s.lally@townof rochester.com. The street address is; 67 Dexter Lane, Rochester, MA 02770.

The coa board of directors will establish the selection committee at its Sept. 12, meeting, Hartley said. That meeting will happen at 9 a.m. that day at Rochester Senior Center on Dexter Lane.
