Rochester’s new facilities manager has signed a contract with the town that will pay him a yearly salary of $60,000.

Andrew Daniel of Marion signed the contract at Monday’s Selectmen meeting. Daniel took over for outgoing facilities manager Mike Meunier, who retired in December.

Daniel’s first day was Monday.

“Today was a learning experience,” Daniel told Selectmen. “I’m going to come up with a maintenance request form and will deliver it to (town property managers) and then pick them up to prioritize projects and keep busy.”

Town Administrator Rich LaCamera said Daniel will be getting a formal tour of town buildings soon.
