MARION — A Senate amendment in the budget has awarded Marion and several other area Councils on Aging with $10,000. 

Senator Marc Pacheco announced the budget changes on May 25, pointing out in his announcement that Councils on Aging provide vital services in programming, transportation access, legal and medical services, 

 $10,000 to the municipalities of Berkley, Carver, Dighton and Raynham also received $10,000 and Bridgewater, Middleborough, Wareham, and Taunton received $20,000.
