Shooting reported near Harbor Beach in Mattapoisett

MATTAPOISETT — A shooting occurred near Harbor Beach around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30.
The Mattapoisett Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the Harbor Beach area and pursued one suspect into Marion, where they were taken into custody.
It is unclear if anyone was injured.
The Mattapoisett Police said in a statement it believes this was an isolated incident and there are no further safety concerns for the community.
An investigation by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police and the Mattapoisett Police Department is ongoing.
