The Showstoppers Performance Troupe seeks new talent

MATTAPOISETT — The Showstoppers community-service singing troupe is seeking talented youth for its 24th season. 

Youth from second grade to senior year of high school with singing ability are encouraged to apply.

Candidates are asked to submit two audition videos, one ballad and one upbeat song, for review. Call backs will be in person by appointment. 

Submissions do not need to be professionally done and can be recordings of solos in previous school productions. 

Rehearsals are one day a week for one and a half to two hours. 

The troupe will have the opportunity to perform with the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra in December and provide musical entertainment to the elderly at nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the South Coast.

The troupe also performs for the community at-large through a variety of private and public venues, including fairs, festivals, schools, malls, charitable fundraisers and other civic events.
