Signups open for upcoming Gateway Babe Ruth events, seasons; volunteers needed

Winter workouts

Signups for Gateway winter workouts are currently open for Gateway Charter players only.

A one time fee of $40 will be charged for those who register by Dec. 31. Starting January 1, the fee will be $50. The workouts will go for 10 weeks.

Workouts will be on Monday and Tuesday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. at “The Cage” in Marion.

The first 10 signed up with receive a Gateway hat and a workout shirt, and the first 20 signed up will receive a workout shirt. Space is limited and early registration is encouraged. Groups will be set up by age.

Spring and summer registration open

Early registration for the 2015 spring season is now open. Those who sign up by Dec. 31 will be charged $175. The fee for those signing up after is $190.

The first 20 players that register for the spring season will receive a free Gateway Regional 1/2 gallon Igloo insulated water jug.

Registration is also open for the Senior Babe Ruth League’s 2015 season.

Coaches, volunteers needed

The Gateway Babe Ruth League is also looking for head coaches, assistants, and volunteers.

Gateway Babe Ruth is growing at a fast pace, to keep up we are looking for coaching candidates at the Head coach levels and assistant coach levels for the Spring season, Tournament and Extreme team levels.

The league is also looking for volunteers to help out at the winter workouts, yearbook photographers, awards dinner, recruiting, open house help, and field maintenance (prepping the field for games, lining the fields and work after rain). The Gateway Babe Ruth Charter of Acushnet,Carver, Fairhaven,Marion, Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Rochester and Wareham will also welcome the Town League Charters of Barnstable, Bourne, Dennis/Yarmouth, Falmouth, Lower Cape, Martha's Vineyard, Mashpee and Sandwich to become the Largest league in southeastern Massachusetts.
