It has taken a few years, but Sippican Cafe has new owners.

Chris and Jennifer Thibeault purchased the restaurant, which will now be called The Atlantic Bistro.

Berkshire Hathaway real estate agent David Derian said the restaurant, located at 167 Spring St., came under agreement with the Thibeaults in early fall 2016.

Previously owned by Joe Monger, the cafe closed in 2015 but was for sale even before it stopped welcoming customers.

Derian said a handful of people inquired about the almost half-acre property before the Thibeaults showed interest, and there were a dozen more inquiries after they had an agreement.

The menu isn't known yet, but fingers crossed that the Thibeaults like brunch.
