MARION — The Sippican Choral Society will perform its concert on the theme of “Christmas Past and Christmas Present,” on Dec. 8,

This year’s concert reaches all the way back to Ephrem of Syria in the fourth century for some of its lyrics. Familiar favorites such as  “Carol of the Birds” will mix in with contemporary re-imaginings of English noels, and the audience will be invited to sing along with some of the selections.

The performance will be at 4 p.m. in Wickenden Chapel, Tabor Academy campus, 86 Spring St. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. Kids six years and younger can attend for free.

Tickets are available at the Marion General Store, The Symphony Shop in Dartmouth, Keepers Kloset in Mattapoisett, and The Euro Shop in Fairhaven. All members of the chorus have tickets for sale as well.
