Sippican Lands Trust to hold virtual ribbon cutting for boardwalk

MARION — The Sippican Lands Trust will hosting a virtual ribbon cutting ceremony for its Osprey Marsh universally accessible boardwalk on Friday, July 17 at 10 a.m. via Zoom.

A small group of supporters will be present at the site for the ribbon cutting ceremony, which will be streamed  via Zoom to supporters and friends. Send an email to info@sippicanlandstrust.org to participate in the virtual ceremony. The Lands Trust will email a Zoom link once participants have registered for the virtual event.

The boardwalk is 1,800 feet long and just off Point Road. It is accessible to strollers, older adults and others with mobility impairments. It passes through maritime forest, wetlands, and salt marshes to a viewing platform overlooking Planting Island Cove.

Numerous SLT donors, members and friends have stepped up to support this project including a $38,000 grant from the Town of Marion’s Community Preservation Commission for project design and permitting.
