Sippican School hires new assistant principal

MARION — The Old Rochester Regional School District has hired Peter Crisafulli as Sippican School’s new assistant principal.

Crisafulli has over 19 years of experience as a public school administrator and 10 years working in community mental health and social services.

He most recently served as the principal of Whately Elementary School in Whately from 2009 to 2018. Prior to that, he served as assistant principal of Deerfield Elementary School and director of the Frontier Transitional Education Program at Frontier Regional High School in South Deerfield.

Outside of education, Crisafulli held several positions with the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in Holyoke. He is also on the Board of Directors of the nonprofit Treehouse Foundation. Additionally, he mentors young people who are aging out of the foster system as a volunteer with the Friends of Children organization.

"Pete has over two decades of experience in public education leadership and administration as well as human services, and I am confident his expertise will be a valuable addition to the Sippican School team," Superintendent Michael Nelson said. "We look forward to welcoming Pete to our district."

Crisafulli holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Queens College of the City University of New York and a master's in rehabilitation counseling psychology and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from Springfield College.
