South Shore Vikings dominate Old Colony basketball team
The Old Colony Cougars are 2-1 for the season following a 57-34 loss to the South Shore Vikings on Friday night.
The Vikings out hustled the Cougars in the first quarter that ended with a score of 14 - 5.
The Vikings continued the second quarter with a hot streak, but lost starting point guard Richie Lobo who was rushed off the court due to a dislocated shoulder. He was later transported to St. Luke’s hospital for treatment.
At halftime, the Vikings led 32-12.
The Vikings continued to outscore and outplay the Cougars on offense and defense, and at the end of the third quarter the score was 47-20.
The Vikings played extremely well through the game with a lot of energy. The Cougars had no answer to their opponent’s up-tempo game.
Old Colony’s Mayflower Conference record is now 1-1.
“Assistant Coach Ben Trahan went up and scouted [the Vikings] and had a good game plan,” Head Coach Matt Trahan said after the game. “We didn’t execute the game plan.”
