Spring theater programs at the Marion Art Center
The Marion Art Center's theater program aims to help kids develop in five areas: social, kinesthetic, artistic, cognitive and personal/intrapersonal. Productions require students to follow a timeline, to use self-discipline and to accept feedback.
The theater programs offered this spring will teach students basic theater craft through improvisation exercises, theater games and the process of rehearsing and presenting a small production at the end of the session. A minimum of five students are required for each class to run.
Kimberly Teves will teach both the Little People's Theater and Young People's Theater.
Little People's Theater is for ages 6 to 9. This six-week course will be offered Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The session costs $80 for members and $95 for non-members.
The registration deadline for the spring session is March 31, and it will be held April 5, 12, 26 and May 3, 10, 17.
Young People’s Theater is for ages 9 to 13 and will be on Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The eight-week session costs $160 for members and $175 for non-members.
The registration deadline for the spring session is March 19, and the classes will be March 24, 31; April 7, 14, 28; and May 5, 12, 19.
