Street sweeper 1, pickup truck 0: Marion Fire, Police respond to accident

A pickup truck collided with the rear end of a Massachusetts Department of Transportation street sweeper in Marion around 12 p.m. on Monday.

The sweeper was driving on the southbound lane of Route 105 near Route 6 when it was struck from behind by the truck.

"The driver was shaken up," said Marion Fire/EMS Chief Tom Joyce of the man driving the street sweeper.

Marion Police also responded to the scene. The driver and sole occupant of the truck was treated by EMS as was the driver of the sweeper.

In addition to significant damage to the front of the truck, Joyce said the rear left side of the sweeper was damaged.
