Summer events at the Mattapoisett Library

Jun 7, 2021

MATTAPOISETT -- The solstice isn’t for another two weeks, but summer is starting at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library.

Teens and adults can keep busy with the library’s Summer Reading Challenge, and can be entered to win prizes for their reading. Call or go to the library to learn more.

The Mattapoisett Library will also host programs throughout the summer.

Join the library for summer meditation and yoga with Deb Fraine of the Mattapoisett Wellness Center. She’ll lead participants through mindful meditation, breathing techniques and a gentle yoga session every Friday morning in July at 9:30 a.m.. This is an adaptable experience for all levels of physical ability. Visit the library’s website or call the library to register.

On July 13 at 6:30 p.m., there will be a family bingo night on the library lawn (weather permitting). All ages welcome, and no registration is required.

On July 17 at 11 a.m, patrons can learn screen printing at the library. Utilizing a simple method of screen printing, participants will print designs on fabrics such as t-shirts. All you need to bring is a fabric item you would like to add an image to and the library will provide the rest of the materials. If you have a particular design in mind, you are welcome to bring in your own stencils and fabric paint. The library encourages patrons to sign up by June 30th to ensure there are enough materials. Visit the library website or call the library to register.

To register for these programs, go to mattapoisettlibrary.org. If you have any questions or need special accommodations, contact the library at 508-758-4171 or email the Adult Services/Reference Librarian, Michelle Skaar at mskaar@sailsinc.org.
