Taber library summer events
The Elizabeth Taber Library is offering the following programs and services this summer. For more information, call 508-748-1252.
Children's summer reading program
Children aged 2 to 12 and their families can join the program, which begins on Monday, June 27 and continues until Friday, August 5.
Weekly programs include:
Summer story time: Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for children aged 2 to 4. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The Lunch Bunch: A book is read aloud over the course of several weeks. Bring a lunch and a drink and the library will provide dessert. There are sessions on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. for children aged 7 to 10, and sessions on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. for children aged 5 to 7.
Drop-in activity days: Every Friday and Saturday there will be materials and instructions provided for creative crafts during regular library hours in the children's room.

Abracadabra Magic Show: Monday, June 27, 2 p.m. at the Marion Music Hall
Nature Walk: Wednesday, June 29, 2 p.m. at Washburn Park
Yoga: Wednesday, July 6, 2 p.m.
Gardening with Diane Cook: Wednesday, July 13, 2 p.m. at Sippican School community garden
Build a fairy house: Wednesday, July 20, 2 p.m. at the Marion Music Hall.
Make a bee hotel: Wednesday, July 27, 2 p.m. at the Sippican School Community Garden
Crafts with Marsha: Wednesday, August 3, 2 p.m. at the Music Hall
Ice cream sundae social: Thursday, August 4, 2 p.m.

Mystery book club
The next monthly mystery book club meeting will be Wednesday, July 6 at 11 a.m. The book to be discussed is “I'd Know You Anywhere” by Laura Lippman. Stop into the library to register and reserve a copy of the monthly book.
Afternoon book club
The next monthly afternoon book club meeting will be June 21 at 2 p.m. The book selection is “Sound of Gavel” by Ruth Wariner. Register and reserve a copy of the book at the library.
The group will discuss "Boston Girl" by Anita Diamant on July 19 at 2 p.m.
Coloring for adults
Color and chat with others on Thursday, June 9 at 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Potluck cookbook club
Choose a dish from "The Bon Appetit Cookbook" by Barbara Fairchild, make it and bring it to the potluck cookbook meeting on Thursday, July 21 at 6 p.m. Registration required.
Canal cruise fundraiser
Celebrate and support the Elizabeth Taber Library on a sunset Cape Cod Canal cruise on Saturday, September 10 at 5 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person and will be available for purchase at the library on Wednesday, June 15. The cruise is for people aged 21 and over. There will be music and light refreshments, and a cash bar will be available on board.
Museum Passes
The library has museum passes that can be checked out with a SAILS library card. There are currently discounted passes to the Heritage Museums and Gardens, Museum of Fine Arts, Mystic Aquarium, New Bedford Whaling Museum, Plimoth Plantation, Providence Children's Museum, Roger Williams Zoo and the Mass Parks Pass.
