MARION — The Elizabeth Taber Library has announced the dates and books for its “Tables of Content” fundraiser dinners in November. 

On Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. readers and diners will discuss: 

The Elephant Whisperer – Lawrence Anthony
The Library Book – Susan Orlean
Quichotte – Salmn Rushdie
Behold the Dreamers – Imbolo Mbue
The Testaments – Margaret Atwood

Readers and eaters at the  Sunday, Nov. 17 dinner (also at 6 p.m.) will talk about: 

The Moment of Lift – Melinda Gates
Beloved – Toni Morrison
Cooking for Picasso – Camille Aubray
The Nickel Boys – Colson Whitehead

The dinners will be based on a book chosen by the host. Guests will be asked to choose two books from a list of options, in order of preference. Library staff will assign guests to their ideal dinner based on book and date preferences to the best of their ability.

Tickets for the event will go on sale for $60, starting on Sept. 22, with an Oct. 18 deadline to provide library staff with enough time to assign guests to each dinner, and to provide guests with enough time to read their books before the dinner date.

Tickets can be purchased purchased online on the library website, elizabethtaberlibrary.org or in person at the library, 8 Spring Street, Marion. Any dietary restrictions should be indicated on the reply form.
