Rhode Island PBS will feature Hingham resident John Rice’s latest documentary entitled, “Tabor Boy: 100 years at Sea,” Sunday, Dec. 28 at 9 p.m. Celebrating Tabor Academy’s flagship sail-training schooner, the film looks at the rich history of the ship from its origins 100 years ago as a North Sea pilot schooner to its use today as an educational platform for nautical and marine science.

Interviews and historical footage reveal the transformative power of going to sea and the effect it has had on generations of students since the program’s inception in 1917.

Rhode Island PBS airs on channel 19 for Comcast customers and channel 18 for Verizon customers in Marion, Mattapoisett and Rochester.
