Technology Workshops at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library

MATTAPOISETT — November brings new programs to the Free Public Library.

The library will begin a new TechConnect Series in November where librarians will highlight the online resources the library offers.

 On Nov. 16 at 2 p.m., the library will start with a Mango Workshop, showcasing the language learning program. Learn how to use the program, and get questions answered. Participants should bring a smart device. 

There will be a Canva Workshop on Nov. 13 at 10:30 a.m. to teach about the popular graphic design website. Participants should bring a laptop.

The library will host a Teens Cook: Thanksgiving Treat workshop on Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. and a Photo Transfer Craft on Nov. 23 at 10 a.m.

Librarians will have an adult craft series, every other Friday at 3:30 p.m. starting Nov. 1. Interested participants can find a list of events on the library’s website, Mattapoisettlibrary.com. 

On Nov. 15 and 22 at 3:15 p.m. the library will host fall craft sessions for children. Registration is required.

The library will hold its monthly Fairy Tale Story Time with a Fairy Godmother on Nov. 2 at 10:30 a.m. This month, she will read stories about Puss in Boots. A craft is included, and the story time is open to all ages without registration.

The library will host a life-sized game of Chutes and Ladders on Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. Join the game at any time. Small prizes will be given. All ages are welcome.

Local author Wendy O’Neal will present a mindfulness program for children and parents with activities and a snack on Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. Copies of O’Neal’s book,“Breathing Makes it Better” will be available. Registration is required. The program is recommended for children 3 to 8.  

The library will host a STEAM session on teepees on Nov. 21 at 3:15 p.m. The event includes a craft and snack and is for ages 5 and up. Registration is required.

On Nov. 17 from 2 to 3 p.m. the Mattapoisett Free Public Library will host Gregory Hischak, curator of the Edward Gorey House, to discuss Gorey’s career as well as his cultural influence on design, fashion, film, and literature.
