Thank you for making greenhouse a reality

Jul 1, 2016

To the Editor:

Sincere thanks and appreciation go out to the many, many people in our community who have made possible the latest addition to the Sippican School Community Garden – our beautiful white cedar "Freedom" greenhouse.

This project has been in the works since last October when a Sippican parent, Jennifer Jones, submitted for a Whole Kids Foundation grant that was awarded in February. Val Knott, our master garden consultant, appealed to her garden club, The Marion Garden Discussion Group, for further funding that helped us get closer to the funds needed for the building goal. Additional funds were made available from generous private local town citizens.

Businesses once again came forward with Heads Up Irrigation, Parker Electrical, Sherman Briggs Excavation and Wareham Lumber Company who provided materials, labor and expertise in ensuring that the project was successfully built. Finishing off the drip irrigation is our last step in the process and then there will be a colorful array of living plant life bursting forth for all to enjoy. Soon. Thanks to so many for so much!

Garden Club Coordinator
