Things to do: Oyster Fest, open mic night and more
From a pickleball tournament to the annual Oyster fest, there’s a lot to do this week in the Tri-Town.

Open mic night
The Mattapoisett Museum and Southcoast Lessons will host its third open mic night at 6 p.m.
The event, held at the museum, welcomes all ages and genres. Participants are invited to sing songs, play tunes, crack jokes and tell stories.
Additionally, The Friendly Fizz will be set up on the museum lawn with Italian sodas and cookies for sale.

Oyster Fest
The Sippican Lands Trust is hosting its annual Oyster Fest Fundraiser from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Benjamin D. Cushing Center.
This year’s event will have local oysters from Bryant Brothers Shellfish, Sippican Oysters and Snug Harbor Fish Company, wood fired pizza from Wicked Fire Pizza, clam chowder from Sweet Pea Kitchen, craft beer, music from Retro Roots and more.
Tickets are available for purchase for Sippican Lands Trust’s Oyster Fest at www.sippicanlandstrust.org. Ticket prices are $50 for adults and $25 for children (12 and under), with options for seafood or pizza.

Pickleball tournament
Mattapoisett Recreation is hosting its first Pickleball tournament.
Check-in and warm-ups are from 8:30-8:50 a.m., and games commence at 9 a.m. sharp. The tournament will be held at the Hammond Street Courts in Mattapoisett. A rain date is scheduled for Sept. 25.
The cost of the tournament is $25 per player. Proceeds will benefit pickleball court maintenance and equipment. Registration, at www.mattrec.net, is limited to the first 24 registrants. Wait listed players may play if a registered player is unable to play on tournament day.

Mattapoisett Congregational yard sale
The Mattapoisett Congregational Church is having a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 27 Church Street.
Lots of great items will be available including small antiques, collectibles, home furnishings, housewares, sports equipment, books, furniture, toys and games, handmade crafts, beautiful jewelry, and baked goods.
Cash and checks accepted. All proceeds will benefit the ministries of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church. The yard sale will be held rain or shine.
