Nov 16, 2020

The Old Rochester Regional School District has now seen 20 cases of coronavirus related to students, teachers and staff since opening on Sept. 16, with two new cases reported at Old Rochester Regional High School and one new case at Sippican School on Nov. 16.

In its press releases about the cases, the district didn't identify if the individuals who tested positive are students, faculty or staff.

The two people at the high school have not been in school since Nov. 6 and 9, and the individual from Sippican School has been out since Nov. 13. All three are quarantining at home.

Contact tracing is in progress and any close contacts related to the district will be notified and followed by their local Board of Health.

All schools will continue with their normal schedules on Nov 17 with the exception of the Old Rochester Regional High School preschool program which will be closed through Nov. 23.

District schools are cleaned every day after school and as needed.

Superintendent Michael Nelson and Mattapoisett and Marion officials urge all families and residents to remain vigilant about social distancing, wearing masks when in public and practicing proper hygiene.
