Town of Marion switching to new website

Jan 19, 2024

MARION – The town of Marion will be getting a new website, set to go live Thursday, Jan. 25.

Town administrator Geoffrey Gorman announced the move at a Jan. 17 meeting of the Marion Select Board.

Gorman said the new website will be “significantly easier to use” and is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The domain name of the town’s website will remain the same: marionma.gov.

“There will be hiccups, but we have a team in place to prevent that as much as possible,” Gorman said.

Email lists for news, agendas and minutes are being transferred to the new website, according to Gorman.

The site will have a slightly different look but “should be pretty easy to maneuver,” executive assistant Donna Hemphill said.

“I think everybody should be pretty happy with it,” she said.

The transition to the new website was fully financed by a grant from the Community Compact Cabinet with the state of Massachusetts, according to Gorman.

“At the end of the day it is a much, much better website,” Gorman said.

Anyone not receiving email notifications they had previously signed up for following the switch to the new site is asked to contact Hemphill.
